University of Delaware
From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.
At the University of Delaware we are deeply committed to supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities through various initiatives and events. We organize fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and volunteer opportunities to actively contribute to the mission of RMHC, which is to provide comfort and support to families with critically ill children. ADPi members engage in hands-on volunteering at local Ronald McDonald Houses, offering their time and compassion to create a nurturing environment for families facing challenging circumstances. Through creative and impactful events hosted on campus, such as charity walks, themed fundraisers, and collaborative efforts with other campus organizations, ADPi raises both funds and awareness for RMHC. Our sorority’s dedication to this cause not only reflects its commitment to philanthropy but also fosters a sense of community and compassion within the University of Delaware campus.
The Theta Delta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi supports The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation in their fight against childhood cancer. The B+ foundation focuses on providing financial assistance to families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as funding cancer research. Our Theta Delta sister, Ali McDonough, and her family started the B+ foundation after her brother Andrew passed away from pediatric cancer at the age of 14. Our chapter is proud to spread the message of the B+ Foundation, reminding our sisters and others to “Live Like Andrew” and “Be Positive.” Our year-long fundraising efforts for UDance, a dance marathon that benefits the B+ Foundation, reflect our commitment to the B+ Foundation and our passion for the fight against childhood cancer. Our chapter demonstrates unwavering support for the B+ Foundation through its dedicated efforts to help Maren, a brave child battling childhood cancer. We have organized a range of events and campaigns specifically aimed at raising funds and awareness for the B+ Foundation’s mission to fight pediatric cancer. Some of Maren’s favorite things include Mickey Mouse, tea parties, and playing pretend!
